FIBA official list of suspended players and fines

FIBA released list of suspended players and coaching staff involved in recently Gilas and Australia brawl.  Ten Gilas players got suspended and two coaching staff. 



Matthew Wright and Japeth Rosario has one game suspension, Terrence Romeo, Jayson Castro William and Andray Blatche received three game suspension; Roger Pogoy, Carl Cruz and Jio Jalalon each received a five-game suspension; while Calvin Abueva received a six-game suspension. Assistant coach Jong Uichico received three-game ban while head coach Chot reyes has received one-game ban and a fine of PHP 534,773.27.

However, the Philippines' national federation, Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, Inc (SBP) was sanctioned for the unsportsmanlike behavior of its delegation members and of its public, as well as insufficient organization of the game.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas will also have to pay a fine of PHP 13,369,331.76. Gilas will also be forced to paly their home gameagainst Qatar on September 17 behind closed doors.

Moreover, 3 players from Australia were suspended for unsportsmanlike behavior like Chris Goulding (1 game), Thon Maker (3 games) and Daniel Kickert (5 games). No sanction is imposed on Nathan Sobey and Jason Cadee.

Austrilia shall pay a disciplinary fine of CHF 100,000 for the unsportsmanlike behavior of its players. The money from fines will be used to support the "Basketball for Good" social program launched by the International Basketball Foundation(IBF).
