Mass brawl at FIBA qualifiers: Philippines Vs. Australia - Video

Ended Australia won World Cup qualifiers after three players left on court after nine players ejected from Gilas Pilipinas. The ejected players are Romeo, Cruz, Castro, Abueva, Blatche, Pogoy, Rosario, Aguilar and Wright.

Four Australia players were also ejected from the game, winning 89-53 against the Philippines. The brawl stemmed from a sequence under Australia's basket with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. Roger Pogoy was driving to the basket when he appeared to elbow Christopher James Goulding of Australia, which prompted fellow Aussie Daniel to step in with elbow.

Then a chaotic scene started as Filipino players spilled off the bench and onto the court, with Kickert taking a punch in the face and other players.

"Following the incident that occurred in the third quarter of the Philippines-Australia game on Monday in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian Qualifiers, FIBA will now open disciplinary proceedings against both teams," the governing body said. "The decision(s) will be communicated in the coming days."
