This banners were seen hanging in several footbridges in Metro Manila saying "Welcome to the Philippines, Province of China". The banners were reportedly referenced to a joke from President Rodrigo Duterte who said the Philippines could be a province of China to Chinese-Filipino business leaders earlier this year.
Netizens in Metro Manila were shocked Thursday morning to see tarps banners that gone viral in social media. However, ANC reported that the Metro Manila Authority MMDA had already taken those banners.
It's still unclear and not yet identified of whom may put up the banners.
