PH government to hire 130,000 teachers, cops, firemen, jail guards in 2019

The Philippine government is all set of holding the largest employment fair in the country as it planning to hire of at least 130,000 new teachers, policeman, firemen, and jail guards next year.

Deputy Speaker Rolando Andaya said the hiring was revealed by President Rodrigo Duterte in his budget message to support his administration's proposed P3.757 Trillion national budget for 2019.

The House of Representative has received the proposed 2019 national appropriation and will start with the budget process this week. This will be the first budget assigned to newly installed Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Andaya, who worked as budget secretary during Arroyo's term said that 10,000 new teaching positions will be created for which P2.21 billion to cover their initial year's salary has been included in the proposed P529 billion budget of the Department of Education.Duterte said he wants the 105,529 vacant positions in the Department of Education to be filled up. A proposed allocation of P27.6 billion has been sought to support the hiring.

The additional  hires will bring Deped's total authorized personnel complement to almost a million at 951,000.
