Video: Philippine Navy successfully test fired surface-to-surface missile system from Israel

The Philippine Navy(PN) has successfully test-fired its first ever surface-to-surface missile from Rafael Advanced Defense Ltd. The Spike -ER has accurately hit the designated target at approximately 6 kilometers away from the firing platform.

The PN together with the teams from Rafael and the Technical Inspection and Acceptance Committee of the Department of National Defense oversaw the test-firing event, including the SAT for the mini-Typhoon machine gun system and SAT for the Spike-Extended Range missile launching system.

The said activity is necessary as part of the contract and before the final acceptance of the system.

Another actual live-fire demostration of Spike-ER is scheduled with the presence of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Philippine Navy (PN) purchased the Spike ER missile system from Israel in late April for $11.6 million. The system are expected to be installed on three fast MPAC gunboats, while longer-range missile system for its warships.
