Sangguniang kabataan of Laguna swap plastic bottles in exchange of school supplies

Laguna, Philippines - Sangguniang Kabataan ng Brgy. Banilad in Nagcarlan, Laguna has come up with a novel way to encourage its residents to recycle waste. 

Sangguniang Kabatann ng Barangay Banilad, Nagcarlan Laguna announced on their Facebook page. The project is in line to the theme, "PANG-EDUKASYON at PANGKALIKASAN! Kapalit ng "plastic bottle" nyo ay mga school supplies para sa nalalapit na pasukan," wrote on Facebook.

Under the scheme launched by Sangguniang Kabataan ng Brgy. Banilad in Nagcarlan, Laguna, anyone can get the following school supplies in exchange of the required number of plastic bottles.

2 plastic bottles = 1 notebook

= 1 lapis

1 plastic bottle = 1 sharpener

4 plastic bottles = 1 box of 8 colors crayon

Note: 1.5L/1.75L plastic bottles

They are also accepting donations to individual willing to support the program.
