Filipina employee lauded for returning bag with cash DH 195,000 in Dubai

A Filipina Starbucks employee have gained praised online after she returned a bag that was left by a customer containing Dh195,000.

Mae Anne Olmidillo, was honoured by Bur Dubai Police Station Acting Director Colonel Rashid Mohammed Saleh Al Shehhi for her honesty.

Speaking with Khaleejtimes, Olmidillo said that she and her colleague Rosslyn Nini found the bag at the store where she work in. They kept for a while, thinking for somebody to comeback and claim the lost bag. However, no body claimed after two hours were they decided to checked what was inside the bag and look for owner's identity. When they opened, it was a huge amount and then they called the district manager and turned over it to lost prevention department.

Recently, #Dubai Police officials surprised Mrs. Mai In Padana Olmedillo, from the Philippines, for her honesty as she handed over a bag containing Dh195,000, and two cheques; one worth Dh500,000 and another for Dh6,250, as well as a cheque book and several documents. The 27-year-old Olmidillo also extended her words of gratitude to the Dubai Police Department for the recognition.

Police Department Chief added that the honour comes in line with "We Reach You to Thank You" initiative.
