Rizal Memorial Sports Complex Finally Found Life With New Look

The 85-year-old Rizal Memorail Sports Complex was saved after threats of being sold off in 2016. The 11-hectare sports complex that has been site to various historical events has finally found life with a new look.

It is expected to be finished in time for the 2019 Southeast Asian games in November, 12 photos was shared in the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Facebook page. 

It was built in 1934 Far Eastern Championship Games, the major sporting event in the region before the Asian Games. RMSC had one Olympic-sized swimming pool, as well as a track and football stadium. The place is also a home for The Beatles who first held their first and only concert ever in 1966 and once a majestic baseball field that graced the iconic American player Babe Ruth.

This wasn't the first time it was renovated, it was part of a massive reconstruction project in 1953 after getting destroyed during World War II and in 2011 but despite its condition, it still served as the training ground for the Filipino sports athletes.

These is now the new Rizal Memorial Sports Complex could be look like after renovation which started since July.
