World's largest solar-powered vessel 'Race for Water' arrives in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

Race for Water, the world's largest solar-powered vessel was officially welcomed in the Port of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The super yacht, which is the world's catamaran powered by a hybrid renewable energy sources including solar, wind and sea is on voyage around the world to showcase greener tech innovations and provide scientific and practical solutions to prevent plastic waste from reaching the ocean.

Race for Water crew will facilitate workshops and educational visits in Palawan from September 19 to October 6, 2019. This will highlight the importance of collaboration to tackle the complex and growing issue of plastic waste and pollution around the world.

The Swiss Foundation Race for Water was created in 2010 to fight prevent the plastic pollution of the oceans. The mission is to take action on the ground by providing sustainable technological solutions.

The team was originated from North Atlantic, down to South and North Pacific, Southeast Asia, Indian Ocean, to the Mediterranean, and back to Europe.
