DOLE Launched a Mobile Application for OFW

DOLE has launched a free smartphone application to help Filipino workers especially OFWs, to receive proper pay and ensure they are safe abroad.

The mobile application offers various services and features for Filipino workers worldwide. This app will serve as a tool for workers, particularly Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) for easy access about the news, available jobs, regulations, and hotlines to contact the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) for emergency in their country. Aside from this, the application can also locate the nearest POLO branch or office through GPS or Global Positioning System. 'Submit an inquiry' is also available to send inquiry, report, complaints and violations of their employers for quick actions.

The application is now available in Google Play Store and App Store. One of the features in the said app is the 'Wage Calculator'. It is used to calculate the worker's wages with their overtime, holiday pay, and deductions.

"The application is intended to provide a major channel for our workers and OFWs to get in touch with DOLE and the POLO. Through the use of modern technology, they can relay their labor related concerns and complaints", Department of Labor and Employment Sec. Silvestre Bello III said.

The mobile application is one of the developments in client service delivery that will be formally launched during the 86th anniversary of the DOLE next month.
