Around 600 cyclists participated the first tour of the fireflies in Iloilo City that lighted up the city streets of Mandurriao, Jaro, Lapaz, City Proper and Molo which started and ended at Square Park,Megaworld.
People of all ages and different walks of life paced through the fun and leisurely 15 km route within the city street. With all the safety gears from the riders, the event aims to promote the use of bicycle as an alternative means of transportation in order to protect the environment by preserving clean air as a zero-emission mode of transportation.
Some are prepared with there best colorful outfit of the night, others replicate the fireflies with wings pedaling at a steady and relaxed pace.

Mayor Jerry Trenas was also present in the event, who assures bikers that his administration will continue to support Iloilo's transformation as a cycling city. The event was a celebration of life with children, lovers, friends and family expressing deep concern for our country's plight facing global climate change.
