The SEA Games 2019 opener for men's basketball 5 x 5 features the Philippines' men's national basketball team Gilas Pilipinas and the Singapore national team. Gilas Pilipinas dominated the game against Singapore, 110-58 on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Despite the small line up, still Gilas managed to control the lead throughout the game with Troy Rosario who finished 15 points and Stanley Pringle with 14 points, while the 5-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo scored 12 points.
Gilas will resume its campaign on Friday, December 6 against Vietnam at the MOA Arena.
