PBA set to hold 3X3 league draft in February 17

The PBA has set to open a professional 3x3 league in the country as it has scheduled to pick the first-ever draft on February 17, 2020. 

The PBA has opened the registration for aspiring players in the PBA 3x3. Players aged 17 years old and above, Filipino or of Fil-foreign citizenship can apply for the draft, the post on social media by the league said.

How to apply for the Philippine professional 3x3 basketball league?

For the aspirants, players must also submit an application form, original Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) birth certificate, certificate of recognition from the Bureau of Immigration for Fil-foreign applicants, and 2x2 picture.

“The 3x3 basketball has been on the PBA’s plan for quite some time especially after the country hosted the FIBA 3x3 World Cup last year then just this month, the staging of the first-ever 3x3 event in the 30th SEA Games,” Marcial told The STAR. “3x3 basketball may be our way back to the Olympics so this is part of that grand dream. Inch by inch, we will help to achieve the dream.”

The 3x3 is a halfcourt basketball game composed of 3 players only, made its debut in the recent SEA games 2019.
