7.4 magnitude earthquake hits southern Mexico, Photo, Videos

A huge earthquake jolted Southern Mexico on Tuesday, with an epicenter located 11 kilometers southwest of Santa María Zapotitlán in Oaxaca state.


Fooatge emerged on social media showed shaking buildings at the capital Mexico that send people to flee their homes going to a safer place.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake's magnitude was 7.4, revised down from an earlier estimate of 7.7. The earthquake was centered in the Pacific coastal state of Oaxaca.

Mexico is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries.
