Ilocos Sur Governor wants Long Mejia, Dagul, Gene Padilla declared persona non grata

Thee comedians Long Mejia, Romy "Dagul" Pastrana, and Gene Padilla may no longer welcome in the province of Ilocos Sur for violating COVID-19 protocols.

Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson on his statement said that the three comedians had an unsanctioned visit and gig in Sto. Domingo town.

The three including their friends came to the town "with no legitimate purpose" and without coordination with the LGU's PGIS COVID Action Center of the province.

"I strongly condemn these actuations," the statement read.

“Their refusal to undergo quarantine checkpoint protocols, evading checkpoint personnel is another manifestation of violation of our laws, an exhibition of arrogance and impoliteness that should not be tolerated. I, therefore, call upon the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to urgently pass a Resolution declaring Long Mejia, Dagul Pastrana, and Gene Padilla persona non grata in Ilocos Sur,” Singson said.

“Their gesture is truly a disappointment undermining the police power of the LGU in the implementation of quarantine protocols during the time of the pandemic,” he added.

The statement added that 'this incident be a reminder that preventing local transmission of COVID-19 entails the cooperation of every sector of the society."
