Passengers now required to wear face shields in public transport starting August 15

The Department of Transportation issued a memorandum on August 3 requiring "all passengers in areas where public transportation is allowed" to wear face shields starting August 15.





Public transportation is only allowed in areas under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

For sea traveler passengers, face shields are required aboard any sea transport starting August 7. The memorandum was signed by DOTr's Assistant Secretary for Maritime Vice Admiral Narciso Vingson Jr.

The Philippines’ report of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases increase to 115,980 on Wednesday after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 3,462 more new infections.
