A 33-year-old Ukranian fitness social media influencer Dmitriy Stuzhuk who once told his followers on social media that there was no Covid-19 died after contracting the infection on a trip to Turkey.
His ex-wife Sofia confirmed the sad news that happened to Stuzhuk via Instagram.
“I did everything I could so the father of my three children lives. But nothing depends on me now,” she added. She later announced his death, saying, “Dima is no longer with us. His heart could not stand,"
After returning from Turkey, he tested positive for Covid-19 and was subsequently admitted to a hospital. Stuzhuk managed to post an update to his million followers on Instagram last Wednesday, October 15 about his condition. According to him, COVID-19 is "not a short-lived disease" and that it is "heavy."
“I was one who thought that COVID does not exist, until I got sick," he wrote in Russian.
He just woke up with swollen neck and breathing difficulties. He was discharged from the hospital after eight days but had to be rushed back to the hospital because of heart complications. But he later died of the virus.
"I'm so sorry you didn't listen to me about your health. But we have always respected each other's choices. We were no longer together, but it hurt me no less. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Thank you for everything, my important person, my head teacher, my guide, the father of my children." Sofia, who has five million followers said on her Instagram post.
