COVID-19 hits 41 employees at Transcom, Bacolod

 Local government of Bacolod City is temporarily closing down Transcom Bacolod in Barangay Tangub after forty-one employees have been tested positive for COVID-19.





City Administrator Em Ang said that a 21-year-old male employee from Barangay Bata tested positive on January 23 for the virus after showing symptoms on January 18. Contract tracing was conducted, and found more Transcom employees tested positive as of today, January 31. 







During the investigations, it appears that the company was alleged failed in implementing the strict health protocols. It even allowed a confirmed COVID-19 employee to report for work, Ang said as quoted in Digicast Negros report.






Authorities also found out that the company wasn't using the Bacolod Contact Tracing (BacTrac) system to monitor its employees, since it has no login history.







BacTrac system is the city government effort to easily trace persons who were entering at the building. Authorities will issue order for temporary closure of the facility for disinfection. 





Meanwhile, Transcom will be fined for failure to comply BacTract requirement. However, the fine starts from P1000 for the first offense, P2500 and P5000 for the second and third, respectively.
