Filipino celebrities who have tested positive for COVID-19

 While the Philippines is near reaching a million COVID-19 infections, a portion of it were celebrities who have publicly announced their horror experienced to the virus.










1. Isa Calzado

Iza Calzado's talent manager Noel Ferrer on March 28 confirmed that the actress had tested positive for the virus. The actress is the second showbiz personality to be confirmed infected with COVID-19, after screen veteran Christopher de Leon.



2. Richard Yap


Actor Richard Yap revealed in an interview with 24 Oras that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.


"At the time, there was still no treatment for it. Also there's no one who can help you, you have to be all by yourself so psychologically, it was really very hard. There was nothing I could do but pray," Yap said.



3. Heaven Peralejo


The Kapamilya actress Heaven Peralejo on her vlog she posted on Saturday, April 10 said she was tested positive for COVID-19. Through he vlog, she wanted to share her experience with the illness "“hoping that it will help everyone who is going through the same situation to cope up and recover from this difficulty.”


“To everyone else, this video is to provide awareness that COVID is real and it should be taken seriously. I am now a Covid19 Survivor. Sending my love & prayers to everybody going through these difficult times," she added.



4. Baninay Bautista


Baninay Bautista, a former Pinoy Big Brother housemate has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Sharing the news on her YouTube channel, she also revealed that her boyfriend Bont Oropel and her other family members also got tested positive for the disease.



Her condition is asymptomatic, where she doesn't feel any symptoms for the disease.



"Yun na lang talaga pinagpapasalamat ko kasi kahit ubo, sipon, lagnat, wala diarrhea wala rin," she said. 



"May konting plema lang ako and sore throat siguro though hindi talaga siya sobrang sakit," she added. 







5. K Brosas


Comedian K Brosas described COVID-19 experience as 'mental torture'. On April 9, 2021, Brosas posted her RT-PCR test results, saying "thank you Lord after 17 days na isolate mag-isa COVID free na ko (after 17 days of isolating alone, I am COVID-free)!" 



6. Christopher de Leon

On March 17, veteran actor Christopher de Leon shared on his Instagram that he has tested positive for the COVID-19.


"Due to the nature of my work in the entertainment business, I have interacted with many people. I therefore ask anyone who has come in contact me within the last week or two to observe stringent self-quarantine, observe for symptoms and follow the triage procedures published by the DOH, whether asymptomatic or not," he wrote.


7. Michael V


Michael V. has confirmed that he was tested positive for the COVID-19, according to his video uploaded to his YouTube channel.



The comedian documented his journey to his latest vlog. According to him, he experienced flu-like symptoms on July 11 and decided to isolate himself.


"Siyempre nag-isolate na kagad ako, nag-quarantine na kagad ako. I took medicine nagpa-check up ako sa doctor online, I got better the following day. Hindi naman tumaas ng todo 'yung temperature ko. The highest was 37.1 as of kanina. " he said. 


8. Sylvia Sanchez


Actress Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Art Atayde has been tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In a post she shared on Instagram, the actress revealed that she and her husband were experiencing "chills and shortness of breath" last March 24.



"On March 24, my husband and I were brought to Cardinal Santos (Medical Center) as I was having chills and he had cough and shortness of breath. We were made to take the COVID-19 swab test and since then, Art and I have self-isolated. A week later, we finally received the results and we both came out positive for COVID-19," she said.


9. Angeline Quinto


Kapamilya singer Angeline Quinto have tested positive for the coronavirus. The actress took to her social media platform on Thursday, April 1, 2021, revealing that she was positive of the infection.


"I was very cautious. Pero siguro dahil na din po sa pagod, without knowing it naging pabaya ako protecting myself," she said.






10. Donita Nose


Comedian Donita Nose has been tested positive for COVID-19. She said she was not surprised at all by the result of her swab test, since she was experiencing fever and headaches for a week, followed by diarrhea and coughing that made it difficult for her to breathe.


11. Jon Lucas


A former member of the boy group Hashtags and actor Jon Lucas revealed that he was tested positive for the COVID-19. He opened up about his recovery journey last June 25, 2020, as he thanked health workers and other frontliners for their hard work. 


"Three days ako nag stay sa NEGH [New Era General Hospital]. Kasi doon sa [rapid test] ko nag positive ako. Opo alam naman natin po at ng karamihan na hindi siya accurate para madetect yung virus. Minsan daw kahit negative ka pwede ka mag positive. Minsan naman daw positive ka pero negative ang lumalabas,” Lucas noted.



12. Kakai Bautista


Comeddienne Kakai Bautista on September 11, 2020 revealed that she recovered from COVID-19 after being tested positive for the COVID-19. 


"Today, on my 14th day, I graduated from COVID University," she said, adding that she was asymptomatic.


"I am making it public so that I may be able to share my journey to all of you and raise more awareness. Guys, COVID is not a joke. Oo, sakit s'ya, virus s'ya. Pero mas parang ikakamatay mo ang fear and anxiety 'pag nagkaroon ka. But when I learned that I have it, 2 bagay lang ang sinabi ko kay Lord. 'Lord, hindi pa ako pwedeng mamatay kasi mababawasan ng maganda ang mundo' and 'Lord, I surrender everything to you.' And I was OK. Nagpaka-normal ako dahil alam kong mas magkakasakit ako kapag hindi ako umayos sa isip at sa gawa," she said on her Instagram post. 


13.Enzo Pineda


Actor Enzo Pineda said he is a COVID survivor. On his Instagram post, the actor thanked his family and friends who kept him and his dad, 1-Pacman party-list Rep. Enrico Pineda in good spirit during this ordeal.



“Thank you to all the hardworking doctors, nurses and crew of Cardinal Santos Medical Center who took good care of me and my Dad. Mga bayani kayo and salamat sa lahat ng sakripisyo na ginagawa niyo para sa ating bayan,” he said.



14. Nikki Valdez


Actress Nikki Valdez says "COVID is real!" She revealed that she and her husband Luis Garcia got infected with COVID-19.



"Two weeks ago, my husband and I tested positive for COVID - a most dreaded situation not any one of us would want to be in. It was so painful, we both did not know how to react,” she said on Friday, April 9.




15. Gab Valenciano


On April 11, Gab Valenciano on his Instagram account urged COVID-19 survivors to donate their plasma to help others in the fight against COVID-19.



“YOUR PLASMA CAN SAVE LIVES,” he stressed. “Last November, I tested positive for COVID-19 and chose to keep it strictly between family and friends for very personal reasons.”



“It wasn’t severe in any way and I fully recovered by following all protocols and by the full support of my loved ones, even from afar. I never planned to post about it till today because right now, WE NEED HEROES,” Valenciano said.
