Over 100 Philippine Orthopedic Center staff test positive for COVID-19

Around 117 out of 180 employees of the Philippine Orthopedic Center (POC) have been contracted with COVID-19.

"The Philippine Orthopedic Center has been serving patients despite the lockdown for over a year. With a range of outpatients between 350-450/day and the increasing positivity rate of COVID patients, 117 out of 180 swabbed staff turned positive," the statement read.

Most of the POC employees who tested positive have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccines.

As of Saturday, a total of 216 patients and 12 COVID-19 patients are confined in the hospital that need a continuing care.

Due to this, the hospital offered online consultation through its Facebook page. Other surgeries will also be put on hold.

POC appealed to the public to continue to self quarantine as the pandemic has affected so many.
