Here's everything you need to know when you are considering to switch network without losing your existing numbers for free.
Smart, Globe and Dito now accept number porting application, but please not that users may avail that if they met the following guidelines set under the Mobile Number Portability Act:
- User must not have outstanding balance
- User must not be block listed by the network
- Account is not locked or under contract to a service provider.
How to apply for Mobile Number Portability Law?
- Applicants must submit an MNP application to their existing provider.
- Applicants must get a unique subscriber code (USC) from the original network.
- Any valid government ID and proof of number ownership are also required to complete the application.
- It will take 24 to 48 hours to activate the transfer.
- A 60-day period required before the another transaction for transfer will be process.
- There's no limit to the number of times one can switch to another network.
Application for Globe network switch may apply by visiting https://new.globe.com.ph/port-number to check for the eligibility.
Smart, meanwhile said that it has provided an online form for interested parties to fill up the form. While Dito said applicant can visit their physical store or download its Dito app.
Subscribers of GOMO & Cherry Mobile, both under Globe service agreements, may also port their numbers to other networks.
