Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, 45, has filed for divorce from Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei after more than 10 years of marriage.
Barbie filed for divorce at the family court of the Taipei District Court in early November, according to reports. The couple will divide NT$900-million ($44.1M) worth of assets, including a NT$600m Taiwan mansion ($29.4m), which is under Barbie's name and Xiaofei's S Hotel worth NT$350m ($17.2m).
"After serious and careful consideration, Mr. Wang and Ms. Hsu have decided to divorce amicably and have begun related legal proceedings," a statement to the media through their lawyers said.
"Mr Wang and Ms Hsu had the joy of meeting and knowing each other and spent a wonderful time together. Even as they separate now, they are thankful for what they have given each other. In the past, they walked as spouses. In the future, they will be parents and friends. They will continue to raise their children together and give them all their love and support," it added.
Back in June, Barbie made headlines when she announced that she had filed for divorce from Xiaofei. The split was said to be partially attributed to his penchant for posting disparaging comments about Taiwan on Weibo, which Barbie found unacceptable.
