BONGBONG MARCOS SAYS WITHDRAWAL OF SEN. BONG GO SIGNALS SOLID ADMIN FORCES THROUGH BBM-SARA TANDEM

Presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos says the withdrawal of Senator Bong Go from the presidential race "signals the consolidation of administration forces" to the Marcos-Duterte tandem.

Marcos lauded Go's moved, saying that the president's longtime aide "clearly acted his part in strengthening those of us aligned with the Duterte administration.

"The withdrawal of Se. Bong Go from the presidential race reinforces this current and signals the consolidation of administration forces to the BBM-Sara UniTeam," he said.

"His withdrawal only mirrored his worth as a true public servant, one who is willing to sacrifice his personal aspirations to serve a common purpose and a higher cause," he added.

On Tuesday Senator Christopher "Bong" Go withdraws his candidacy for president, saying that his family has been against his decision to run for the highest office.

"Napakahirap kung pasan-pasan mo habang nangangampanya ka ay nagre-resist ang pamilya mo, ang puso mo, ang isipan mo, paano ka makakapagkampanya nang mabuti? Kaya ang sabi ko marahil po ay hindi ko pa po panahon," he said in an interview.

Marcos said that he is also "saddened by the unexpected withdrawal" of President Duterte from the 2022 Senate race.
