DOST DEVELOPS A READY-TO-EAT CHICKEN EGG THAT COULD LASTS FOR 3 MONTHS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE

 While most of the chicken egg could only lasts in just a week, the Department of Science and Technology has developed a ready-to-eat chicken egg that could lasts up to three months without refrigeration. 





Through its social media page, DOST's Industrial Trade Development Institute made the announcement, describing the ready-to-eat chicken egg as "an all-natural source of protein with no added preservatives.". Added that the product was suitable for calamities and emergency situations.




The eggs does not require cooking and it's packed in a retort pouch to maintain its shelf stability.





The chicken egg ready-to-eat food is part of the agency's response to the challenges of providing food during emergency such as typhoon and other natural calamities. Aside from the chicken egg, the DOST-ITDI's ready-to-eat food product includes boiled sweet potato, chicken arroz caldo, smoked fish rice meal, beef-filled suman, mungbean-coconut milk drink, and isotonic drink.
