Israel might be the first in the world administering its citizens with fourth vaccine shots against COVID-19, but it has also discovered a first case of "florona" disease, a double infection of COVID-19 and influenza.
"#Israel records first case of #florona disease, a double infection of #COVID19 and influenza," Arab News tweeted.
The first case of florona was first detected from a pregnant woman this week who was admitted to the Rabin Medical Centre to give birth, a report in Hindustan Times said, quoting an Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth saying the woman was not vaccinated.
Florona, however, is not a new variant, to dispel misgivings, as it is believed to be the occurrence of flue and corona at the same time. Florona is being studied as Israel has seen a spike in influenza cases in the last few weeks.
