Filipino businessman Jose Sarasola and his Japanese star girlfriend Maria Ozawa has called it quits after almost five-year relationship, citing 'LDR is very hard'.
Sarasola told Pep.ph that their long distance relationship caused by the ongoing pandemic decided them to have called it quits.
"To be honest, wala na kami. It's been difficult, e, it's been very hard. LDR is very hard. We never expect this to be difficult," he said.
"LDR is very hard. We never expect this to be difficult. We tried, ha," he added.
According to Sarasola, it was a mutual decision after more than four years of being together, denying any third party nor disagreement that led to their breakup.
He said Ozawa left the Philippines for Japan before the pandemic start, while Sarasola left alone in the Philippines.
"She left knowing na baka after three months baka mawala eventually, little did we know na naging global pandemic na siya.
"Up to now, she never come back. Nahihirapan talaga siya kasi sa mga rules ng mga foreigner coming back.
The two still tried their patience as they still in contact everyday until the time they both gave up.
"As time went by, it just took a heavy toll on the both of us, e. Nahirapan kaming dalawa," he said.
He concluded by saying, he and Ozawa remained friends despite the breakup. The two have been dating since 2017.
