KOBE BRYANT AND GIGI GETS A BRONZE STATUE PLACED AT CRASH SITE IN MEMORY OF THE FATHER AND DAUGHTER

 A bronze statue of the late NBA star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi was placed on a chopper's crash site. It was two years now when nine people, including Kobe and Gianna Bryant were killed in a helicopter crash in a foggy morning of Jan. 26, 2020.





The Los Angeles based sculptor Dan Medina has brought the 160-pound bronze statue to the crash site in the hills above Calabasa.  The statue shows the Lakers legend with his arm around his daughter as she holds a ball. And they both wearing a basketball uniforms.



Medina made the 1.3-mile (2.1-km) hike to pay their respect to the basketball legend.




"This is all on my own, no one asked me to do it," said Medina.



"On this day, the second anniversary of the accident, I decided to bring it up from sunrise to sunset and create a bit of a healing process for fans.



He also engraved on the statue's steel pedestal the names of all nine victims. 




"Today was special because I witnessed a lot of that. People would come up and they would leave with some sort of satisfaction."



The five time NBA champion in his 20 season with the Los Angeles Lakers died at 41 which shocked the world - sending his fans into mourning. His daughter Gigi was only 13 at the time of the crash.
