PNP TO FILE CHARGES VS POBLACION GIRL, DAD, MOM, FOR ALLEDGE QUARANTINE BREACH

The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in a statement released January 3 evening said, they will file charges against Gwyneth Chua, a returning overseas Filipino (ROF) from the United States who reportedly skipped her quarantine to party in Makati City. Her father and mother will also included in the charges.

After the investigation was established, authorities found out that parents of Chua will be included in filling of the case as it appears that her father had fetched her at the Berjaya Makati hotel at 11:40 p.m. after she arrived on December 22, and it was her mother who transported her back to the hotel at around 9 p.m. on December 25.

According to the CIDG, several others including personnel of the hotel quarantine facility will also be charged.

Chua's presence in a restaurant on December 23 night was also confirmed.

She later tested positive for coronavirus disease, according to a result released on December 26. As a result, at least 15 people were reportedly infected, including some of her friends and staff of the bar and restaurant where she was attended.

Meanwhile, the authorities said that they did not find sufficient evidence to include Chua's friends who dined and partied with her.

Chua is currently under isolation in a facility in Metro Manila.
