Actor Gerald Anderson is the latest victim of 'Basag Kotse' gang in Quezon City that took his valuable things including some of his important documents.
In a report from GMA News 'Unang Balita' the incident happened along Roces Avenue on Monday, February 14.
In a CCTV footage captured in the area, it can be seen the two motorcycle appeared to have spotted their target. A back rider approach the SUV, suddenly break the window glass and took the belongings inside the car. Unsatisfied robber came back and took the bag in the front seat for the second time when it notice no one react on his first try.
In a follow-up operation of the NBI, authorities were quick to capture one of the suspects and recovered other belongings of the actor.
"Sa aming pag-iimbestiga, naka-receive kami ng information na 'yung mga motor na ginamit ay na-identify sa isang Tondo-based na basag kotse group. Nagkaroon kami ng surveillance and casing operations hanggang natunton namin 'yung bahay ng isa sa mga napuntahan ng gamit ni Gerald Anderson," NBI SAU Executive Officer Attorney Kristine dela Cruz told GMA News.
The suspect identified as John Allen Dancel a.k.a Elong admitted that he's the one who broke the window glass.
Authorities recovered the expensive bag, two watches and gadgets.
"Naghahanap po kami ng madidiskartehan ng pera. Hindi po namin sadya na makita 'yung sasakyan ni sir Gerald Anderson po. Ta's noong sinilip ko po, may laman po 'yon. Kinuha ko po," the suspect told GMA News.
