IRONMAN RETURNS IN SUBIC AFTER TWO YEAR HIATUS

The Century Tuna IRONMAN Philippines is back on Sunday after two-year hiatus due to pandemic. It features a 3.8-kilometer swim, 180-km bike and 42-km run in Subic Bay in Zambales.

A total of 912 participants, including foreigners from 23 countries have joined the race, as organizers are making sure that they are implementing the strict health protocols to ensure the safety of everybody.

“The racing community will have a chance to release two years of pent up enthusiasm and eager to get in to swim, get to their bike and lay it up all there on the run,” said Ironman Philippines ambassador Fred Uytengsu.

“We’re also looking in setting an example on how to stage a race safely and return to normalcy for the racing community not just in Subic Bay and in the Philippines but also in Southeast Asia,” he added.

“Century Tuna is proud to be the title sponsor of the second staging of the full-distance IRONMAN race in the Philippines. The event is the perfect platform to promote a healthy lifestyle, which is the core value of our brand. We hope that the Century Tuna IRONMAN Philippines will inspire many Filipinos to pursue their fitness journey,” said Greg Banzon, vice president and general manager of Century Pacific Food, Inc.
