TURKEY DELIVERS TWO T-129 ATTACK HELICOPTERS FOR PHILIPPINIE AIR FORCE

 The Philippine Air Force has received the first two units of T-129 ATAK helicopters from Turkey on Wednesday. The PAF confirmed the arrival of the two choppers at Clark Air Base, Mabalacat City, Pampanga at 12:30 A.M.





The two units are part of the six units of T129 aircraft from Turkish Aerospace Industries in line with the AFP's Modernization Program  - Horizon 2. 



According to PAF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Maynard Mariano, the newly arrive assets will undergo inspection and tests before it will be commissioned in a month or two.





The T-129 helicopters will be under the command of the 15th Strike Wing of the Philippine Air Force dedicated for Close Air Support to ground troops and armed surveillance and reconnaissance.



The six T-129 ATAK helicopters from Turkish Aerospace Industries was acquired by the Philippines with a total contract price of USD269,388,862 (approx. PHP12.9 billion), according to a Philippine News Agency report.
