ELON MUSK BUYS TWITTER FOR $44 BILLION

 As announced by giant social media platform, Elon Musk bagged a deal to buy Twitter Inc. for $44 billion cash on Monday. The deal comes four days after the world's richest person unveiled an offer to buy the world's most influential social network.





The self proclaimed free speech absolutist vows Twitter "better than ever by enhancing the product with few features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans." 




"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," Musk said in a statement released by Twitter."I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots and authenticating all humans."




Under the deal, Twitter started negotiating with Musk to purchase at his proposed %54.2 per share.




"Twitter has a purpose and relevance that impacts the entire world. Deeply proud of our teams and inspired by the work that has never been more important," the company's CEO Parag Agrawal said in a tweet.



Musk, who is worth $268 billion according to Forbes is a high-profile Twitter user with 83 million followers on the platform, which he has used over the years for everything from sharing memes and discussing his companies future plan.
