EFREN "BATA" REYES FALLS TO VIETNAMESE RIVAL BUT TREATED HIM LIKE A SUPER-STAR

 Efren "Bata" Reyes, 67, was treated like a super star in the 31st Southeast Asian Games after he fell short for gold.




The former world pool champion may not be lucky for gold for this year's Games but his legacy remains and brings huge impact to new generation pool players.



When Efren Reyes and Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu met in the semi-finals, Ha DOng Gymnasium was almost packed with both players received received enthusiastic support from the audience.



The Vietnamese player took the lead with 27 points and Reyes can hardly close the gap with 13 points. It ended with the score 100-55,  Reyes took home a bronze medal. Tranh proceeded to take a selfie with Reyes.




With his unfading toothless smile, Reyes remains a hit, wherever he competes.



“Sikat pa pala ako,” Reyes told his teammates.
