REAL MADRID WINS AGAINST LIVERPOOL TO CLAIM 14TH EAUROPEAN CUP CHAMPIONSHIP

Real Madrid has won their 14th European Cup against Liverpool 1-0 in a Championship League final. The do or die game halted for more than half an hour after police tried to control the crowd as they  force their way into the Stade de France on Saturday.

Vinicius Junior scored just before the hour with Real's first attempt on goal and their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made several fine saves to deny Liverpool, who end the season with  two domestic cups having also failed to win the Premier League.

"We played a good game, not a perfect game, but I don't think a perfect game would have been possible the way the opponent was set up with a deep formation.

"We had a lot of shots but not the clearest and Thibaut Courtois made two top saves."

The entire atmosphere was electrifying with lots of intensity as supporters were seen climbing over the closed gates to make their way into the ground.

The game had kicked off after 35-minute delay following incident outside the stadium where riot police used tear-gassed to disperse people without tickets who tried to force their way in.

Meanwhile, European football's governing body, UEFA, released statement saying "the turnstiles at the Liverpool end became blocked by thousands fans who had purchased fake tickets which did not work in the turnstiles."
