The Quezon City council on Tuesday has approved a resolution declaring actress Ai-ai delas Alas and cinematographer Darryl Yap "persona non grata" for disrespecting the city's official seal.
The decision comes after the city government's official seal was seen in the video of Delas Alas posted on social media.
Outgoing District IV Councilor Ivy Lagman urged the local government to ban the two, accusing them for their "malicious and unscrupulous defacing of the seal" in a video posted on Yap's Vincentiments' Facebook Page - where Delas Alas played the character of "Mayor Ligaya Delmonte."
In the video, it can be seen the edited official triangular seal of Quezon City.
"The malicious and unscrupulous defacing of the official seal of Quezon City ridiculed and casted dishonor to it, causing insult to the noble representation of the seal," Lagman said.
Adding that, "the people of Quezon City will not let anyone disgrace the official seal of Quezon City for personal and selfish interests."
