LAWMAKER SEEKS RENAMING OF NAIA TO FERDINAND E. MARCOS

 While some seeks to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport back to its original name, Manila International Airport, Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., meanwhile, filed a bill seeking to rename it to Ferdinand E. Marcos International Airport.




According to a House Bill 610 filed by Teves, "it is more appropriate to rename to the person who has contributed to the idea and execution of the said noble project."



Adding that, the country's main gateway was "done during the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Sr."




The former Manila International Airport was change its name after the slain husband of the late former president Corazon Aquino who was assassinated on Aug. 21, 1983.
