COUPLE GOES VIRAL FOR P5K WEDDING BUDGET

Do you dream of having a lavish wedding? Or you want a simple but elegant wedding where you can save even more money.

Netizens were amazed by the P5,000 wedding of Geejen Monreal and Jiony Jan Macabuhay of Antipolo City.

The two have gone viral after they put on a 5,000 pesos wedding, which included the cost of the Civil Registry worth P390, Food (P2,500), second hand dress, and their wedding rings worth P999.

Jiony Jan Macabuhay's social media post captioned: "Saan aabot ang 5K pesos mo," has since went viral with over 16K reactions and shares on Facebook.

They tied the knot last October 25, 2021, but just recently posted their wedding photos online, July 31, 2022.

Their wedding journey began a day before Manila went into full implementation of strict lockdown.  After a year of being together they both decided to settle down. And they got their civil wedding in Antipolo City.

The couple talked to the Filipino Times and revealed that the photographer for the civil wedding under the Mayor's office was free of charge.

"Need mo lang kumuha copy after if you want the good quality picture."

The two shared that their wedding was only "DIY". The bride's wedding dress is said to have been bought by her mother in the marketplace.

'Maybe regardless of whether the wedding is simple or elegant, the important thing is that the important people in your life are present and you're both happy. What matters most are your priorities and plans in life. Just focus and don't mind what others may think about you. What's more important is to take care of each other,' said Monreal.

The two didn't expect their DIY wedding is now viral on social media, with more than 20,000 shares.

The couple told the website that they didn't want to break the bank for their wedding, "Huwag mangungutang!"
