Filipino couple Sheryl and Ruel Pascua, who work as nurses at NG Healthcare, in Trentham, helped deliver a premature baby 35,000 ft in the air when fellow passenger went into labour on nine-hour flight to the Philippines.
Sheryl Pascua and her husband Ruel was en route for vacation when a call of duty was needed to help the pregnant passenger. The couple didn't hesitate to help the mum-to-be, also named Sheryl, on August 2.
The baby was delivered as the plane flew over Iraq, 20 minutes after the mother realised she needed help.
Sheryl and Ruel were assisted by two other nurses who were also onboard.
"When I attempted to conduct the internal examination, I was surprised and thrilled that the mother was already at the crowning stage," she said.
The couple have already travelled nearly seven hours from London to Kuwait.
"It was the most thrilling, exciting and at the same time the most humbling experience."
"We attend to patient's needs three to four times a week but this experience is so different and unique.
