ALBAY 8-YEAR-OLD CHESS PRODIGY TO COMPETE IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION IN THAILAND

 Bince Rafael Operiano, an 8-year-old chess prodigy from Albay is set to compete in the upcoming tournament in Thailand. He will represent the Philippines to bring the Pinoy pride this November 2022.



According to the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP), the young chess enthusiast will soon be granted with the National Master (NM) status when he reaches 10 years old.



Bince, won the National Youth and Schools Chess Championships Grand Finals Boys under 9 category last September 16 to 23 held at the Dapitan City Cultural Sports Complex.



Meanwhile, proud Albay Vice-Governor Edcel Greco Lagman Jr. gave praised to Operiano and his parents.




"Congratulations to Albay's newest chess prodigy who hails from Barangay Busac, Oas and studies in San Isidro Elementary School. Congratulations man sa mama niya na si Mrs. Rosemary Roblico Operiano and sa papa niya sa si Mr. Ben Operiano," said Lagman in Facebook post.



He assured that Bince would get enough support to enhance his talent in chess by giving him incentives through the local government unit.



"I am hopeful that the Municipal Government of Oas, through Mayor Domingo "Jun" Escoto, VM Hector Loyola Mallia and the honoroble councilors of the Sangguniang Bayan of Oas, will give incentives to its very own Albayano chess champion so he can continue on with his very promising chess journey," said Lagman.
