Muscleman John Garcia, 29, shocked his girlfriend by proposing at a body building contest in the 43rd Masskara Festival.
Wearing only a shorts, Garcia, dropped to one knee and asked Jesa Mojares, 31, to marry him on stage.
And he was thrilled when his girlfriend said 'yes' at the Ayala Events Center in Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Bacolod City on Tuesday. It was a double victory after John was crowned champion in the Men's Physique Tall category.
The proposal was captured and shared in Bacolod Yuhum Foundation's social media page.
According to John his plan was delayed for four weeks as he couldn't find the best opportunity as he is busy preparing for the competition.
"I had the ring on me when we took this trip. I hide it in my shoes as Jesa might discover it in while rummaging in our suitcase," said John.
Unaware of John's proposal, Jesa who was outside the hall came on stage as her name was called and thought she won one of the raffle prizes. To her surprised, John kneeled in one knee with a ring and popped a question to marry him. The crowed cheered as Jesa accepted his marriage proposal.
