TRANSWOMAN LUIS MARASIGAN CALLS OUT THE INTERNATIONAL CLOTHING BRAND IN BGC FOR REFUSING HER TO USE THE FEMALE FITTING ROOM

A transgender woman named Luis Marasigan took to social media and shared her disappointment to an international clothing brand in BGC after she said she was refused to use the female fitting room.

On the video, it can be seen Marasigan burst into tears while narrating her alleged experienced to Zara clothing chain in Taguig City.

"Andito tayo ngayon sa ZARA sa BGC and ayan bumili tayo ng mga clothes natin," Marasigan said in the viral video on social media.

"Di ko na siya naisukat. I was downstairs - syempre I'm a trans woman so sa women's clothing ako namimili. When I entered the fitting room, sabi ni ate, dun daw ako sa taas mag-fit. I kindly asked why. Sabi niya doon daw yung fitting room ng men," she added.

Marasigan was told by the saleslady to fit her clothing on the men's fitting room. She also informed the personnel that she is a trans woman but she was rejected.

"Sabi ko, ate, hindi naman po kasi ako lalaki, sabi ko transwoman po ako," she said.

The saleslady then told her that other customer might be upset if she will be allowed to fit her dresses on the women's fitting room. Marasigan continued by saying, only she and her sibling was there and no other customer lining up at the fitting room at the time.

"Pero hindi yon yong ginawa nila sa akin. Grabe. Pumasok ako sa fitting room kasi nga sa pamnbabae naman talaga ako bumibili ng damit-so, pumasok na ako sa fitting room ng babae, andoon din yong kapatid ko. May lumapit sa aking babae, sabi niya, 'sir, sa taas po kayo," Sabi ko, 'bakit po?' Sabi niya, yong fitting room daw kasi ng lalaki sa taas," she said.

Expected that the store manager will explained the situation to the saleswoman who stopped her from entering the fitting room, Marasigan told that she left buying her favorite dressed without fitting it.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community started buzzing the issue on the internet with trans activist Mela Habijan said: "MISS Louis Marasigan IS NOT A MAN. MISS LOUIS IS A TRANS WOMAN, WHO FREELY EXPRESSES AS A WOMAN.  Trans women are women."
