This privilege has started since January 2023 as the CEO itself
had experienced the tragic effect of being brokenhearted in 2018.
"Ako mismo galing po ako sa isang breakup o bad relationships, and for sure, affected 'yung work ko," Ricardo Dublado, a Chief Executive Officer of Cebu Century Plaza Hotel said as quoted as saying to GMA News Online.
"It comes from my personal experience po kasi ako po mismo, I've been through a lot of bad relationships tapos nagdu-duty po ako na medyo narag ako o lutang so it's somethng that na-experience ko na dati,' he added.
The hotel is also giving a paid breakup leaves to its probationary employees.
"I don't want na ma-experience ng mga staff ko kasi for sure, 'di sila productive sa mga trabaho nila so sayang din yung araw," the CEO explained.
He added that, "We believe kasi the healing period of a broken heart is five days, based from the experience po."
Dublado also said that the company is giving each employee a paid break leaves every year provided that the breakup is with a different person.
The leave pay expire every year and are not convertible to cash.
Netizens, meanwhile, hilariously took to the comment section of the hotel's social media post.
