NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS FOUND IN THE GARBAGE

 While many Filipinos are still waiting for their long overdue national identification cards, this circulating video in Negros Occidental has left others to worry about their IDs.


The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) confirmed the footage was captured in the garbage disposal area of Barangay Tiling, Cauyan, Negros Occidental.




In the video, it can be seen a group of people taking footage of the national IDs of several individuals left at the garbage area.


It was shown a still unbroken ID cards, with names, photos and other information of the owners. It showed at least four IDs with its worn out envelop in the trash. 






“The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is currently investigating the incident of PhilIDs found in a garbage disposal area in Barangay Tiling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental in collaboration with barangay officials,” it says in a statement.


"The agency assures the public that this is an isolated case. The privacy and security of the data of PhiSys-registered persons is of the highest priority, and strict protocols in the distribution of PhilIDs and ePhilIDs have been in place since the beginning of its distribution," it added.
