During a prayer rally in Davao, Mayor Duterte publicly urged Marcos to step down if he lacked "love and aspiration" for the Philippines. VP Duterte, however, clarified in a statement that she hadn't discussed the remarks with her brother.
"I can only surmise that he is coming from a place of brotherly love," she stated, adding that it resonated with "the common sentiment" about her facing unfair treatment from "some sectors within the President's circle."
Despite the apparent rift, VP Duterte reiterated her faith in the Filipino people who elected her and her commitment to serve them. She expressed confidence in weathering "black propaganda and smear campaigns" targeted at her character.
"I will stay true to my work at the Department of Education unless the President says otherwise," she declared.
