Samsung's refreshed Galaxy A series boasts top-tier security and improved cameras, all at an attractive price point. Available from March 25th, the A55 5G and A35 5G aim to continue Samsung's reign in affordable phones with features trickling down from their flagship S24 line.
Unprecedented Security for Mid-Range
The highlight is the inclusion of Samsung Knox Vault and Knox. Knox Vault isolates sensitive data like passwords in a secure zone, inaccessible even if the phone is compromised. This unprecedented security feature brings peace of mind to mid-range phone users.
Shared Features and Sleek Design
Both phones boast a stunning 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery.
Camera Differences and AI Enhancements
While both sport a 50MP main sensor and 5MP macro lens, the A55 steps up with a 12MP ultrawide camera compared to the A35's 8MP option. The A55 also boasts improved low-light photography with its new AI Image Signal Processing, but it's unclear if this extends to the A35. Both phones benefit from optical image stabilization.
Storage and Memory
The A55 gets a slight bump in RAM with 8GB compared to the A35's 6GB. Both offer 128GB storage, but there's no mention of expandable microSD storage, a feature present in previous models.
Colors and Availability
The A55 5G comes in Awesome Navy and Awesome Lilac, while the A35 5G sports Awesome Navy and Awesome Ice Blue. Starting March 25th, they'll be available from Samsung for AU$699 (A55) and AU$549 (A35). Pre-order the A55 directly from Samsung before April 15th and get a free pair of Galaxy Buds FE.
