Social media platform Reddit announced on Wednesday that it had successfully resolved an issue stemming from a recent update that caused widespread disruption for thousands of users.
"Earlier today, we released an update that inadvertently impacted platform stability," the company stated in a press release. "We have deployed a fix and are now fully operational."
Reddit is renowned for its forums, or "subreddits," which serve as spaces for communities to discuss a wide range of topics. The platform primarily generates revenue through advertising.
Downdetector, a service that monitors outages by aggregating user reports, indicated that over 152,982 outages were reported in the United States as of 4:09 PM ET.
