Earthquake Shakes Quezon Province and Metro Manila

 A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Quezon province on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 7:16 AM. The tremor was felt in nearby regions, including Metro Manila.



The earthquake, which occurred 37 kilometers northeast of Jomalig, Quezon, at a depth of 10 kilometers, was initially measured at magnitude 5.6 by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).




Residents reported feeling the earthquake in Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Quirino Province, Camarines Norte, Manila, Pasay, and Pasig.



Phivolcs said no damage is expected following the earthquake, but aftershocks are possible.
