Despite a thrilling second half, the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers secured their second victory of the UAAP Season 87 Men's Basketball Tournament, defeating the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers in a nail-biting overtime contest, 94-87.
Kevin Quiambao, last season's MVP, led the Green Archers with a career-high 29 points, along with 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Mike Phillips also contributed significantly, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

For UST, Nic Cabañero and Forth Padrigao showcased impressive performances, scoring 23 and 15 points respectively.
DLSU dominated the first half, showcasing their perimeter shooting prowess and building a comfortable lead. However, UST mounted a comeback in the second half, capitalizing on DLSU's shooting slump and turnovers.
The game went into overtime, where DLSU's defensive intensity and Quiambao's clutch plays proved to be the difference. The Green Archers ultimately prevailed, securing a hard-fought victory.
