The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC), the new operator of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), has significantly increased meet and assist service fees. These fees have jumped from P800 to P8,000 per person. This adjustment took effect on September 14, 2024, when the NNIC assumed control of the country's main gateway.
To address the needs of larger groups, the NNIC has introduced three additional service options:
- P50,000 for up to nine passengers
- P100,000 for 10 to 20 passengers
- P140,000 for 21 to 30 passengers
VIP Lounge Accommodation remains available for groups of up to 10 people. This service includes at least three to four guest passes. For groups exceeding 10 people, an additional fee of P201.60 per person will apply.
Parking fees at NAIA have also been adjusted to improve facilities and discourage non-passengers from using the airport as a long-term parking area. These changes were implemented on October 1, 2024.
Meanwhile, the significant increases in meet and assist fees and parking charges have drawn criticism from travelers and industry experts. Many argue that the new fees are excessive and disproportionate to the services provided. Concerns have also been raised about the potential impact on tourism and the overall travel experience at NAIA.
As public outcry continues to grow, discussions are underway to address the controversial fee increases. Government officials, industry representatives, and traveler advocacy groups are exploring potential reforms and solutions to ensure a more equitable and affordable travel experience at NAIA.
