Actor Ken Chan and seven others are facing serious charges of syndicated estafa after allegedly defrauding a businessman of P14 million in a restaurant investment scam.
The complainant, represented by Attorneys Joseph Noel Estrada and Maberick Romero, claims to have been lured into the investment, only to be left with nothing.
According to legal documents, the businessman invested the substantial sum in the venture but was never provided with the promised returns or any transparency regarding the business operations. Authorities have already served one warrant of arrest on September 24, 2024, and recently attempted to serve a second, but no one was present to receive it.
If convicted, the accused, including Chan, could face reclusion perpetua or life imprisonment. However, Chan's legal team, which also represents actress Rita Daniela, has yet to issue a public statement.
